Firebug Integration

The Authenteo editor now supports saving changes made by Firebug or any DOM inspector. Firebug is a DOM inspector, JavaScript debugger, and network traffic analyzer (among other things) that we highly recommend. With Firebug you can dynamically inspect different elements of your page and modify the HTML, attributes, styles, and CSS. Now with Authenteo, you can save those changes that you have made. Authenteo will check for changes in the DOM structure and CSS, and save any changes that have been made. You can also use the Mozilla DOM inspector, or in IE, you can use the IE DOM explorer bar and make changes to your site on the fly.

In order for for your changes to be saved, you must be in edit mode. If you are modifying the layout of our page, you must be in layout mode. You also must have sufficient priviledges (layout editor if you are changing the layout) to make the change. Currently, Firebug (and other DOM inspectors) does not have the capability to define certain elements and CSS as non-editable, so you will not receive any feedback from Firebug if you do not have sufficient access level to be able to modify the element, the changes you made that you don't have access to, will simply not be saved. We working on a future integration with Firebug that will limit the modification capabilities according to your priviledges.
